About The Game

Building on the foundation established in World of Warcraft and its first two expansions, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm adds a variety of new content and offer players the opportunity to rediscover Azeroth and experience the game from a whole new perspective. Players are be able to adventure as two new playable races, achieve new levels of power, take on challenging quests and dungeons in all-new zones, and experience dramatic changes to familiar aspects of the game in the wake of a world-shattering disaster.

In Cataclysm, players will witness the face of Azeroth being altered forever, as the corrupted Dragon Aspect Deathwing awakens from his subterranean slumber and erupts onto the surface, leaving ruin and destruction in his wake. As the Horde and Alliance race to the epicenter of the cataclysm, the kingdoms of Azeroth will witness seismic shifts in power, the kindling of a war of the elements, and the emergence of unlikely heroes who will rise up to protect their scarred and broken world from utter devastation.

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm (Collector's Edition) Review

What better time to visit Blizzard HQ to see the new World of Warcraft expansion than the week right before the Electronic Entertainment Expo? We hit the ground running toward the Irvine, California-based studio to try out Cataclysm, the new expansion for the massively addictive, massively multiplayer game World of Warcraft. We got a hands-off demonstration of some of the game's new features, and we also got a chance to sit down and play with some of the new content ourselves. Please be advised that this story contains minor spoilers. Blizzard Entertainment's third expansion to the ever-popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game doesn't yet have a release date, but that didn't stop its maker from announcing and detailing the $80 Collection's Edition for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm today.

In addition to the game disc, players will find a number of exclusive items in the collector's edition ranging from a Lil' Deathwing in-game pet to a behind-the-scenes DVD with more than an hour's worth of footage detailing the game's development.

The $80 World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Collector's Edition includes a 176-page art book, a Lil' Deathwing in-game pet, behind-the-scenes DVD, and a soundtrack CD. Additionally, the collector's edition will ship with a mousepad depicting Deathwing ravaging Azeroth and a 60-card WoW starter pack from the Wrathgate trading card series.

Blizzard Entertainment did not provide a release date for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm but did promise that more game details will arrive in the coming months.
