The Duel: Test Drive II Review
By Leandro Herena
This game is better than its SNES counterpart, but is still quite dated by the standards of today. Not bad, but it could have been better.
Think you've got what it takes to race with the fastest drivers in the world? See if you're up to snuff, as you choose your car from a list of Lamborghinis, Porches, and Ferraris--trying to avoid the cops and blow by your competition. You'll travel across deserts, hit the streets in urban environments, and hug the curves of the coastline on your journey. There are four different skill levels to accommodate players of all abilities, and you can battle a computer opponent or race the clock. Variable weather conditions mean that you could go through a patch of heavy rain, find yourself racing in the snow, or even battling the pitch black of night. If you're unhappy with your car's performance, you can alter its acceleration, handling, and braking to your taste.
