. . . . . Texas Cheat 'Em Walkthrough/Trophy Guide . . . . By Mikeburnfire . . . . . Created July 2009 . . . . It looks like it would appeal to casual gamers, but the minigames are fairly difficult unless you're a seasoned gamer. Therefore, I can't really recommend this game to anybody. It doesn't appear to have a target audience. But if you bought this out of curiosity or because you really really like Poker, then maybe this guide will be useful for you. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= [B] How to Play =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= The point of the game is to have the best hand. There are five cards on the table and two in your hand. Of those seven, your best five cards make your hand. Normally you'd go by luck, but in this game you cheat to make a good hand by playing mini-games. The best hands are as follows, from worst to best * High card (When you have nothing else, your highest card is your high card; e.g. Ace or King) * One pair (Two cards of the same face value; e.g. two Queens) * Two pair (Two sets of one pair; e.g. two 10's and two 9's) * Three of a kind (Three cards of the same face value; e.g. three 8's) * Straight (Five cards whose face value are a sequence; e.g. 6-7-8-9-10 or 8-9-10-Jack-Queen) * Flush (Five cards of the same suit; e.g. five hearts) * Full House (Three of a kind plus one pair; e.g. 4-4-4-7-7 or 2-2-2-Jack-Jack) * Four of a kind (Four cards of the same face value; e.g. four 8's) * Straight Flush (A Straight with all cards the same suit; e.g. 4-5-6-7-8 all spades) * Royal Flush (A Stright Flush with an ace high; e.g. Ace-King-Queen-Jack-10) * Five of a kind (Five cards of the same face value; e.g. 5-5-5-5-5) Note: Aces are both the highest and lowest card. They can be used in high and low straights (e.g. Ace-2-3-4-5) (e.g. Ace-King-Queen-Jack-10). Aces cannot be used as both high card and low card at the same time though (e.g. Queen-King-Ace-2-3) There are four phases of the game: The Deal, the Flop, The Turn, The River, and The Showdown. * Deal: Each player is given two cards. You may Check (stay in), Bet (stay in and raise the stakes) or Fold (sit the round out) * Flop: Three cards are put on the table. As above, you may check, bet, or fold. * Turn: A fouth card is put on the table. You may check, bet or fold. * River: A fifth card is put on the table. You may check, bet or fold. * Showdown: Everybody reveals their hand. The players with the best hands win. Note: When you fold, you forfeit all chips you have put in so far (unless you use the Free Fold cheat) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= [C] How to Cheat =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= You are given 15 cheat points when you begin, which you may use on vaious cheats. To successfully peform each cheat, you must play a minigame based on luck, skill, or button mashing. You will be given 15 more points on the Flop, Turn, and River phases, giving you 60 cheat points total per game. You can use these cheat points to alter cards, attack other players, see what cards will be dealt, and more. If you have a bad hand then you must improve it with cheats. If you have good hand you must defend it and sabotage other players. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= [D] Minigames =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= When you try to use a cheat you must pass a random mini game. Here they are and how to win. Roulette Button Timing. Winning depends on your reflexes. Press the X button when you're in the yellow. High/Low. Chance. Winning is mostly luck. Select whether the face-down card will be higher or lower than the face-up card. Aces count as an instant win. Statistically, you want to choose "low" on an 8 or higher and "high" on a 7 or lower. S-L-O-T-S Button Timing. Winning depends on your reflexes. Press the X button right before the icon you need comes up. An easy way to win is to identify the icon before it, then hit X when you see it. Dice Roll Chance. Winning is ALL luck. Free Fold and Guaranteed Win use these games. The chance of winning is about 1-in-4 and 1-in-12 respectively. Strength Tester (PVP) Button Timing. Winning depends on your reflexes. Press the X button when the level is high. Horse Race (PVP) Button Mashing. Winning depends on your reflexes. Press the X button a lot. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= [E] Cheats =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= These are the types of cheats available and how to use them wisely. Chip Steal (15) (PVP) * Steal money from someone. * Use when you fold so you still earn some cash. Also, you can use this on a player who is almost broke to finish them off. Target X-Ray (10) (PVP) * See another person's hand. * I hardly ever used this. Obviously not good for multiple players. If you think somebody might have a good hand, it would be better to mind meld. Mind Meld (10) (PVP) * Change a person's card. * Good for sabotaging if you've already got a good hand, or if it looks like somebody's altering community cards to get a good hand. Player Swap (10) (PVP) * Swap cards with somebody. * I hardly ever used this. Decent for sabotaging if you've got junk in your hand, though. Electromagnetic Pulse (15) (PVP) * Steal a person's cheat points. * You don't actually get to use your victim's cheat points. You can find better uses for your points. PVP Shield (20) * Prevent attacks on you. * Costly, but can be useful on late levels, especially the last level. Community Snapshot (10) * Locks community cards for you only. * Good for keeping cards in The Flop the way you like them. Very useful on late levels when other players are changing them. If you use this again after the cards have changed, your snapshot resets. Community Suggestion (20) * Alters community cards to be one higher, one lower, or a different suit. * Costly, but very useful to establish a flush or straight. You will use this a lot. Community Swap (20) * Swap a card from your hand with one from the table. * Costly, but useful. If there's a full house on the table and you've got junk in your hand, just switch your cards out and now you've got the full house. Guaranteed Win (30) * Automatically win regardless of your hand. * Costly, and rarely works. If your hand is that bad, just fold. Use this only to win the trophy. Bluff (5) * Tell everybody you are excited. * Cheap, and makes opponents more likely to fold. Not that useful. Precognition (5) * See community cards before they are dealt. * Cheap and VERY helpful! I always use this cheat in the beginning to see if I should fold or try for a straight/flush. Card Suggestion (15) * Alters a card from your hand to be one higher, one lower, or a different suit. * Very useful to establish a flush or straight. You will use this one a lot. Deck Swap (5) * Switch a card out with one from the deck. * Cheap and the best chance to make a great hand out of a terrible one. If you need a specific card, hope for one close and alter it with Card Suggestion. Free Fold (15) * Fold without losing chips. * Fairly costly, and only works 25% of the time. I never use it. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= [F] Trophies =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Most trophies in this game are easy to get. Here's how. Nosey Parker (Bronze) Use the Target X-Ray Cheat on another player * Easy. Just perfom this attack on a player. Win the little mini-game. Sticky Fingers (Bronze) Steal another player’s chips * Easy. Just perform the attack on a player. Win the little mini-game. Overkill (Bronze) Use five or more Cheats in a single hand * Easy. Repeat Deck Swap until you have it. You don't even have to win the hand. You’re Missing The Point Here (Bronze) Win a hand with a Straight or better without using any cheats * Easy. Just play a few games without cheating until you win. You Low Down, Dirty #@^%! (Bronze) Win a hand by using the “Guaranteed Win” Cheat * Easy, if not tedious. Just save up your points each hand and use the Guaranteed Win cheat. You have a 1-in-12 change of winning the mini-game. Fold when you lose. When you win, don't up the ante or else everybody will fold. The Power of Suggestion (Silver) Use a “Suggestion” Cheat to assemble a full house or greater * Easy. This is pretty much how to play the game. Use the card suggestion or community suggestion cheat to alter the value of the cards to you have a Straight, Flush, or Full House. Like a Bad Rash (Bronze) Win a hand after folding and then using “Unfold” * Easy. Assemble a good hand, then fold. Then unfold, win the little mini-game, and hope to win. Luck O’ the Draw (Bronze) Increase your hand to a Straight or above using Player Swap or Deck Swap * Easy. Just wait until you have four cards necessary for a flush, then use Deck Swap on one of your cards until you get the fifth card necessary. Come Out and Play (Bronze) Win five consecutive PvP games initiated by other players * Moderate-Hard. You have to win five consecutive PvP games *in one hand*. Unfortunately, none of the other players are aggressive enough. There are only two ways I've found out how to do this. One way is to play the last level of career mode. Go almost all in, use a Bluff cheat, then win every time he attacks you. Take your time before making a decision, as you want to give him the biggest window to attack you. It'll definitely take a few tries this way. The second way is to play the 13th level. There are lots of players there and many are fairly aggressive. I went all in, had all but two players stay in and probably played 10 PvP matches before I was done. Easier, definitely, but not as reliable as the last level. Fixer (Silver) Use Cheats to go from a High Card to a Straight or better * Easy. When you've almost got a straight or flush, use a few suggestion cheats to get the hand you need. Something’s Fishy Here… (Silver) Win a hand with 5 of a Kind * Hard. Just play until you get lucky, with 3 or 4 community cards close to the same, then use Deck Swap/Card Suggestion/Community Suggestion to get it to 5 of a kind. This will take a while. While writing this guide, I got it on the second career match. Just check nonstop, and use your cheatpoints if you get a lucky hand. Cheater For Life (Gold) Complete all levels of Career Cheat’em * Easy-Moderate. Just beat all 16 levels. Strategies are as follows... =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= [G] Career Mode =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Listed below are the strategies for winning career. Be aware that most of them advice you to "go all in" which mean to raise as much as you can. If Liz folds, restart. If Liz checks, win the match. If she places 4th or lower, you win. One person will likely fold. Just win the hand, go all in on the next hand, and win again. * * * Match 15 (Diamond Circut) * * Jumping the Card Shark * * Goal: Get your chips up to $50,000! * Turns to win: 2-10 * How to win: Go all in, like I taught you, and win a few hands. Get close to $50,000 and then just steal your way to the top. * * * Match 16 (Diamond Circut) * * Do Poker Bots Dream of Electric Straights? * * Goal: Beat Zap Magnatron! * Turns to win: 1 * How to win: What do we do in one-on-one matches? Go all in and then win the match. Consider using the PvP shield because Zap is a very aggressive player. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= [H] Multiplayer =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Nobody plays this game online. No opponents means no multiplayer. Besides, there are much better competative games to play online anyway. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= [I] About This Guide =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= My girlfriend bought it out of curiousity and I ended up getting hooked into it and beating it. Then I saw that there was no guide or anything on GameFaqs, so I created this in case somebody else needed help. If you've used it then let me know that I haven't completely wasted my time! Also, check out my "Hard Mode" guide for "God Hand".
