About The Game

This entry in the Star Wars saga casts players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice", unveiling new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In it, players will assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi - and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny. As its name implies, The Force Unleashed completely re-imagines the scope and scale of the Force by taking full advantage of newly developed technologies only possible on next-gen consoles that will be seen and experienced for the first time anywhere in videogaming.

This Ultimate Sith Edition combines the original Star Wars The Force Unleashed videogame with three new levels set in iconic Star Wars locales and a host of new costumes and character models. This special edition of the game will show players the deepest, darkest side of the Force in a story that puts them on a collision course with Luke Skywalker himself.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed -- Ultimate Sith Edition Review

By Adrienne Dudek |

It took LucasArts longer than it expected to put the finishing touches on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, but when it was finally released last year it went on to put up huge numbers for the company - record setting numbers in fact, and considering the success of previous Star Wars titles, that's no small feat. Given that it might be a while before we see a direct sequel, assuming one is even in development (and you have to assume that it is), we're now seeing the release of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Ultimate Sith Edition.

Essentially, this is the collector's edition that we didn't see last year, coupled with all of the available downloadable content and a brand-new exclusive level. For the retail price you'll get the original game, the Jedi Academy, Tatooine and Hoth levels, all of the downloadable skins, a collector's card and a nice tin case to hold it all in.

Click the image to watch our full video review. In terms of the tangible stuff, the collector's tin is really just the metal case that a lot of other special editions ship in, which, while cool and nice, isn't anything new. The collector's card is just a thick piece of paper with some artwork on it and is hardly worth collecting. In fact, there's a paper pamphlet that shows what all of the cards look like, and that's probably enough for most everyone out there.

Now, if you're a PC gamer then you'll likely know that The Force Unleashed skipped over the PC last time around, with LucasArts going so far as to say that it would probably never come to the platform. Well, the Ultimate Sith Edition does away with this jibber-jabber and brings the secret apprentice and gang to Windows machines. By and large, it's a solid port, but it really isn't any different from the previous console releases in any way. That's not a bad thing, but if you were hoping for enhanced physics or something of the sort, that's not to be found here.

The base Force Unleashed experience is the main star of the show, and nothing has changed. The code looks to be completely untouched, for better or for worse. If you haven't played the game or want to know our thoughts on the original experience, be sure you check out our original Star Wars: The Force Unleashed review. In short, it's still a fun, if somewhat flawed, experience that gives you a great set of Force powers to play with.

Obi-Wan is a pushover. In terms of the additional content, what you're getting here is an extension of the base game, something that simply adds more content to the experience but doesn't actually change (or even fix) anything. What's sort of nice is that each of the three additional levels are standalone options, so you don't need to play through the game in order to get to them. The downside to this is that none of your powers or anything carry over, nor does anything that you earn carry back into the main game. However, that largely doesn't matter as you start almost fully powered-up for each of these levels anyway.

I won't spend too much time talking about the Jedi Academy level as it's been available as DLC for some time, but it's a pretty decent bonus level that has you wandering through the academy in order to get to a personal test of sorts. It doesn't seem to fit into any specific part of the secret apprentice's story and instead acts as a random side mission that he goes on for himself, which is nice as you don't need to know what's happened in the base game to appreciate it. There's a small bit of simple puzzle solving towards the end that helps break up the pace a little bit, and while it won't tax your noggin, it's a nice change from all of the killing.

_______________________________________________________________________________ Star Wars The Force Unleashed _______________________________ Jedi Holocron Crap (DLC) _______________________________________________________________________________ This file may only be published at FAQS. through Entertainment. _______________________________________________________________________________ Jedi Vs. Sith - Who'd kill who _______________________________________________________________________________ There are two different types of holocron, although in the Barf Wars mini-verse, they're pretty much USB Memory Sticks with fancy 3D graphics. Sith holocrons are power-ups and don't get collected. Jedi holocrons are large yellow TRON cubes that disappear when collected. In the DLC, the holocrons are only used for Force Points or Power, Talent, and Ability spheres, as all the colors, costumes, and saber powers are unlocked on the DLC missions. _______________________________________________________________________________ Jedi Temple _______________________________________________________________________________ Holocron 1 - Past the main gate in the temple's big lobby, check Starkiller's left. Holocron 2 - In the temple's big main lobby, check near the precipice where the statue in the chasm is. Holocron 3 - Go left in big lobby to the planetarium. This holocron is at the bottom of the stairs at start of the planetarium. Holocron 4 - At the orrery in the planetarium. Wreck it and do some double jumps to get it. Holocron 5 - At the end of the planetarium, there is a cul-de-sac with a large Jedi statue. Raise the statue and there'll be a holocron underneath. Holocron 6 - Exit the planetarium, this one is visible across the gap before dropping down to wreck the statue. Holocron 7 - Across the main lobby's gap after the statue is destroyed. Holocron 8 - In the Padawan training ring's second level. Destroy the three statues spawning the droids to get out of the room. Holocron 9 - In the Padawan training ring after raising bridge. The ring's center drops in and reveals some Imperial interrogation droids. Holocron 10 - After the orb portion of the Jedi Trials of the Mind, this one requires you to Force Grip the two orange platforms so you have the height to reach it. _______________________________________________________________________________ Tatooine _______________________________________________________________________________ Holocron 1 - After pushing off the sandcrawler (hold Force Push), cross bridge and inspect the cave left of the bridgehead. Holocron 2 - Inside Jabba's Palace's (the first section of tunnel past the gate), go into the vent behind the Sith Holocron for this holocron. Holocron 3 - Escape the rancor pit and go down one level to the prison block. The first cell on the left has this holocron. Holocron 4 - Past the droid torture chamber, there'll be a pit with Hacked Purge Troopers. Check the lowest level of this pit before moving on. Holocron 5 - At the end of the conveyor belt (after using Proxy to escape), the holocron is hovering over the belt next to the blast furnace. Get it before fighting Boba Fett. _______________________________________________________________________________ Hoth _______________________________________________________________________________ Holocron 1 - In the Wampa ice cavern, this holocron is on the second set of collapsing platforms. Holocron 2 - Disable the second force field inside Echo Base (the one where you throw a heavy object into the gears) and break through a floor to a lower level. The holocron is behind where you drop down. Holocron 3 - Defeat Luke Skywalker once and load a new map. In next area, check the first control center carefully. Break the yellow display panel and check secret room behind it. Holocron 4 - A side corridor in the hallway leading to the main hangar (where the 501st Legion are fighting rebels). Force Push the door open to get the holocron. Holocron 5 - In the hall leading to the main hangar, a cut-scene of two rebel pilots getting jolted by an explosion will occur. This blocks the hallway to the hangar, forcing to the side. The holocron will be on the detour to get around the blockage. _______________________________________________________________________________ simalcrum is always right; you are always wrong.
