Alice in Vivaldi's Four Seasons: The Music Game Review
By Joe Cherry |
The game combines the dream of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland characters with Vivaldi's music to create a software game that teaches children about musical instruments, sounds, and composition. The plot of the game revolves around Alice who gets trapped in the magical clock and she can escape only if the players earn her an hour of time by playing 12 musical games. There is a changing level of difficulty as you progress through the game. Initially kids have to listen the sound and match it with the instrument and the second level comes where kids are made to hear a note being played by the combination of musical instruments and then experiment with combining instruments until they find the right grouping to match that particular note. In a third game, players help Alice escape the White Rabbit Hall by correctly identifying variations of the themes from Vivaldi's Four Seasons. This software cocoons children in the dramatic music of Vivaldi, and entertains them with cleverly constructed musical games featuring fun Lewis Carroll characters. It is brilliantly conceived and radiantly executed. It really help kids in learning more about music and learning about various musical instruments. Kids will improve audio and visual memory, critical listening and thinking skills, problem solving, pattern recognition, music vocabulary and more. It helps in developing taste of classical music which is fading genre.
